The Importance of Pre and Post Workout Meals

Diet is essential to muscle growth. Fueling your body with the right foods before and after workouts are very important since your body needs nutrients to build muscle.


Pre Workout Meal


30-120 minutes before your workout, consume a pre workout meal consisting mainly of carbohydrates and a little bit of protein. 


An example of a proper pre workout meal is two slices of whole-wheat toast with peanut butter and drizzled raw honey.


Additionally, make sure you are fully hydrated before, during, and after your workout.


Post Workout Meal


As quickly as you can after your workout, consume a meal consisting mainly of protein and carbohydrates. 


An example of a proper post workout meal would be brown rice, grilled chicken, and some broccoli.
