The amount of rest between each exercise set is crucial to your physique goals. There have been countless studies conducted regarding optimal rest times between sets. Here’s a condensed version of the results:
If you are training for Muscle Growth, the optimal rest time between sets is 90 seconds.
If you are training for Strength, the optimal rest time between sets is 2-5 minutes.
If you are training for Muscle Endurance, the optimal rest time between sets is less than 30 seconds.
For the majority of you reading this, your main focus is muscle growth so try to aim for 90 seconds of rest between your sets.
